Wyatt Werneth, host of Dive Stops, is not your ordinary host.  At age 41, he has seen and done more than many of us can even begin to imagine.  Born the son of a Gulf Coast fisherman, Wyatt spent his earliest days off shore fishing with his father and developing an early admiration of the sea and its inhabitants.  He knew salt water would forever be in his veins and that he would be a true waterman.  This alone makes him perfect as a guide to diving locales around the world.

But wait, there’s more.  Wyatt joined the Navy right out of high school and jumped right into diving by serving with The Amphibious Warfare Group.  He also volunteered for temporary assigned duty (TAD) so that he could get the most out of his enlistment.  Wyatt served on the USS Spiegel Grove LSD 32 and says it was the best experience of his time in the Navy.  During this time he took a MED cruise and went through the shellback initiation over the equator.  He later helped decommission the Grove and is a plank owner.  Wyatt revisits the Grove during the pilot episode of Dive Stops.

After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Wyatt did some soul searching in California where he met his future wife, Pamela.  Together they moved to Florida, first to St. Augustine where he served as a dock master and diver and later to Cocoa Beach where he now lives with Pamela and their five year old daughter, Saylor.

Wyatt continued his waterman ways by experiencing the best surf on the east coast, starting his own dive salvage and bottom cleaning business and serving as part-time lifeguard and volunteer firefighter while he attended college.  After completing Fire College and emergency medical school, he was hired by Cape Canaveral Fire Rescue.  In 2004, Wyatt reenlisted in the United States Coast Guard as a petty officer and has since earned many certificates in the maritime community.  He has also set three world records in paddle boarding .  Currently, he is the Ocean Rescue Chief for Brevard County Fire Rescue.

While always working to improve his skills in the ocean rescue field, Wyatt enjoys diving and wants to show you the world he loves.  Get to know Wyatt and the underwater world he loves by watching Dive Stops each week and see why Wyatt lives by this credo:  “The voice of the sea speaks to the soul.”
